Believe it or not, one of the most important processes in creating video films is knowing the importance of how to backup your footage. My method is quite straightforward and very effective.
The first step is all about backing up your SD’s or SSD cards to two different hard drives. The reason it is wise to back them up to two separate hard drives is if one happens to fail, you have the comfort of knowing it is backed up on another hard drive. Please note, that it is important to back them up separately or twice independently, and not copy from one hard drive to another. The reason for this is that if you have made an error on one, it then transfers to the other.

If editing is required, you don’t want to edit off of the card but rather create a working copy and edit off of the working copy. Once you have completed the project, you can save the final video to three separate storage locations.
This pretty much completes the process. As mentioned, I backup using the hard drive method, however, you can also store to the Cloud.
This is just a general idea of the process I follow, but it is worth every penny to know your footage is in a safe place.
